Introducing the AKU Pulsar GTX

Whenever we come to review new technical footwear releases, the design thinking tends to steer towards a single purpose.

Which makes sense.

If a shoe has one main purpose, why dilute its performance?

Why wouldn’t you develop a shoe that not only fulfils this purpose, but actually surpasses expectations and excels in the environment it was made for?

But what if you could create a shoe that excels, well, anywhere?

If we’re talking about modern multi-purpose footwear, the AKU Pulsar GTX is as versatile as they come. Robust, supportive and built with precision, it has the ability to conform to different environments, and intensities in movement, with ease.

Made for pretty much anyone who likes to get up and move, AKU have designed a hiking boot (there’s a low version too!) that fits in more ways than one. So, whether it’s long rambles in popular hiking regions you’re into, family camping trips or urban exploration (or maybe you’ve got  an appetite for all three!), this one’s definitely for you…

Comfort first

Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing – it’s all about comfort. Getting from A to B can fast become a walking nightmare without it. And AKU are no strangers to this.

Behind each shoe lies a genuine love for manufacturing, built on the age-old prestigious tradition of quality Italian workmanship. In the Pulsar GTX we find a shoe that’s tough enough to perform across multiple surfaces, but delicately designed to give a snug, cushioned feel.

AKU have put real emphasis on delivering supreme fit. And what stands out for us here is the design of the upper, which uses a resilient elastic material for the tongue and collar to improve flexibility.

Meaning each stride feels as natural as the last.

All new Elica Natural Stride System

During the summer, AKU announced their innovative Elice Natural Stride System, which combines durability, premium construction and sole structure technology to give an all-round exceptional hiking experience.

The Elica System improves distribution of weight and uses elongated lugs to increase lateral support for the wearer. While the MICHELIN PULSAR sole, inspired by MICHELIN’s Wild Grip’R Descent mountain bike tire, features on all Aku Pulsar GTX shoes.

The asymmetric construction of the outsole (with exclusive AKU ELICA technology) ensures excellent load distribution and outstanding improvement of foot roll and anatomic flex grooves help to provide maximum ground contact, traction and stability.

So wherever you tread, you can do so with conviction.

Born and bred for the outdoors

As multi-terrain as they come, these shoes are pliable and pretty much ready for anything you throw at them. Featuring the widely-used GORE-TEX membrane to bring added weather protection, there’s no cause for concern if you come across a sudden cloudburst.

Resilient, comfortable and water-resistant, the AKU Pulsar GTX was born and bred for active outdoor pursuits. So if you’re the kind of person who isn’t restricted to one environment, if you love to explore and experience nature at its finest, this could be the one for you.
