10 iconic skate parks you have to visit (Part 2)

Last time we teased you with 5 iconic skate parks that deserve your attention – and now it’s time for Round 2.

So here they are, another 5 gnarly parks that’ll peak your interest…

Argora Skate Plaza Barcelona, Spain

We’re back in Barcelona after last time (obviously).

This time we’re praising Argora Skate Plaza, a dream location for technical street riders across the world. Think flat rails, quarter pipes, ledges, stair cases and hubbas.

This is Europe’s first park to be certified by the Street League Skateboarding!

And staying true to what Barcelona does best, the location gives riders something a little bit magical too. Just a short distance from from Badalona beach and the walking playground that is Barcelona city, this Mediterranean inspired plaza will have you coming back for more.

Highlights

Argora is a popular haunt for professional riders, but it also provides a platform for beginners and intermediate skaters too. The park is also host to competitions all year round, so you can show off your latest tricks.

Five Dock Bowls Sydney, Australia

It’s so easy to spend a day (or two) here and free your mind whilst riding the gnarly old concrete bowl filled with all manner of obstacles.

Alternatively, you can check out the new bowl which offers up a selection of spines, a love seat and extensions in heights ranging from 5ft – 8ft – perfect for those who like to shred.

Don’t miss the old snake run which offers up plenty to grind.

Highlights

Donned the “dream for transition skaters”, Five Dock Bowls is a must-ride for skaters who want to make the most of endless lines.

Southbank Skatepark London, United Kingdom

Often referred to as “the beating heart” of London’s colourful skate scene, Southbank has been bringing in skaters from around the world for over four decades.

This is why it’s made our top 10…

It’s become a lively hang out for boarders who enjoy the diversity in ledges, railings and banks. And similar to Marseille, Southbank is no stranger to graffiti which adds character and life to a concrete backdrop.

Highlights

This legitimate old school park is about more than the riding experience.

Recent threats to close the whole thing down, ignited an uproar from the skating community. Southbank lives and breathes the passion and charisma that makes skateboarding and its riders one of a kind.

Santa Lucia Vitoria, Spain

Spain is the skate haven that just keeps giving.

Located in the beautiful city of Vitoria, Santa Lucia skate park has to be one of our favourite spots at the moment. Taking inspiration from what makes street skating so incredible, this park has been designed using everyday objects from the city.

One of the best has to be the zebra crossing turned bump obstacle which goes to show the level of imagination and detail used when making this park.

You’ll also find classic features, including a bowl, rails, ledges and barriers. Made with a variety of materials, Santa Lucia will put your riding to the test as you slide and transition from surface to surface.

Highlights

The bent floor quarterpipe and fence-come-bank are just two of the small details that make Santa Lucia a skater’s dream.

Kona Florida, USA

Kona Skate Park epitomises everything skateboarding is about.

Going way back to the 70s, this is one of the oldest private skateparks in the USA. This park has bags of heritage. And there’s even a modern street course if you’re looking to ride the old and the new…

Make sure you check out the mini ramp and pool style bowls with extensions.

Highlights

You can’t not ride through the old, winding snake run and inhale all the skating history.
